Do I need to meet face-to-face with my coach?
The beauty of a coaching relationship is that, considering that coaching is a facilitated monologue, it can actually be distracting having a coach sitting in front of you. Suddenly, facial expressions and eye contact start to pull a client away from the internal work they are doing and they begin to respond to external stimuli. Although face-to-face meetings can happen, they can sometimes detract from the work the client is doing. There are circumstances, of course, where face-to-face meetings are preferred and make sense, and if you are a local client, this would be discussed and worked through in the preliminary consultation. On the whole, however, and considering that this is a relationship that can be engaged regardless your location, phone meetings are encouraged.
